The Media Launch of Lucian Carnival 2026 is carded for Thursday, March 12, 2026. Produced by the Carnival Planning and Management Committee, the 2026 installment is set to be a riveting display of mas, pageantry, and culture. The event will showcase a variety of Lucian Carnival Elements, that will signal the official commencement of the season.

In commenting on the upcoming launch, Chairperson of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee Mrs. Tamara Gibson noted, “This year, we want to continue with our efforts to ensure that all Saint Lucians know that this festival belongs to all Saint Lucians.  This is our largest cultural festival and want every Saint Lucian to be part of it”. 

This year, the CPMC is continuing its focus on the inclusion and continued collaboration with the local media. The Media Launch of Lucian Carnival is earmarked to provide an initial opportunity for the press to engage with major stakeholders of Lucian Carnival. Present will be representatives of the National Carnival Queen Pageant, Carnival Bands, Calypso Monarch Competition, Soca Monarch Competition, Junior Carnival, Panorama, King and Queen of the Bands and Community Carnival.

Key speakers of note include:

Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilaire – Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Minister for Tourism, Commerce, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Heritage

 Ms. Tamara Gibson – Chairperson of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee

Additionally, the highly anticipated unveiling will feature many exciting new elements including the Carnival Legends Awards segment that will celebrate trailblazers whose innate passion and dedication helped shape the spirit and culture of Lucian Carnival.
