The Community of Ciceron came alive last weekend with the Miss Ciceron Pageant being held on Saturday June 22, and Ciceron Carnival parade on Sunday June 25, 2024. Scores of residents and visitors came out to be a part of the celebrations in Ciceron.
Faith Edward, Miss WASCO Lane, was crowned Miss Ciceron 2024. The Miss Ciceron Pageant and Carnival parade was developed in an effort to ignite a sense of community pride and unity within residents of Ciceron.
Chairperson of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee, Ms. Tamara Gibson, commended Ciceron on an excellent start to the festivities. “Ciceron delivered for their Carnival festivities. Community Carnivals are known to provide a more intimate experience to revellers to come together, share some laughs and have a great time, and it was heartwarming to see persons enjoying themselves responsibly, and our local artistes and Calypsonians joining in the fun and excitement. Additionally, Community Carnivals are significantly more affordable for revellers than the National Parade, so it plays a critical role in ensuring that everyone can be a part of the Lucian Carnival experience.”
Community Carnivals continue with Dennery Carnival from Saturday June 29 to Sunday June 30. Dennery will also be home to the Inaugural D’Vibes show, a showcase of the best of Saint Lucias Deneery Segment artist, on Wednesday, July 3, at Fond D’Or. Acts for D’Vibes include Blackboy, Cooyah, Umpa, Subance, Tally Boy & MKG, Tension Crew, Prospere, and Vye Twizeen Boyz. Tickets are only $60 and can be purchased from The Cell outlets and Steve’s Barbershop.
