Back in Tune, Courts Babonneau Reclaims Panorama Crown
After losing their six-year winning streak to Pantime Steel Orchestra in 2025, Courts Babonneau Steel Orchestra recaptured their title in the Republic Bank Panorama Competition. The event which forms part of the Lucian Carnival National calendar of events occurred on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the Sab, in Vigie, Castries.
The winning rendition, ‘Hilary’ by Rootsy was coincidentally performed by Courts Babonneau Steel Orchestra and Pantime Steel Orchestra. The judge’s decision revealed the performance arranged by Allison Marquis Courts Babonneau Steel Orchestra accrued 247.5 points.

The Solo category is back for a second year, this time around, Chazzi Desrivieres won the title with 433.5 points.

This year’s Panorama competition saw scores of pan enthusiasts including secondary school students who have taken a keen interest in the development of steel pan music in Saint Lucia. This follows the inaugural National Schools Panorama Competition
The final competition under the Saint Lucia Carnival calendar, King and Queen of the Bands, will be held this evening Monday, July 13, at the Sab, Vigie. King and Queen of the Bands is a free event and features performances by leading Saint Lucian artists.
