
Shaquelle Charlery representing the Bordelaise Correctional Facility, emerged victorious at the Inter-commercial House Competition with a riveting performance of ‘Bordelaise Sad Stories’. The song is a cautionary tale of the consequences of poor life decisions resulting in incarceration. Charlery unseated two-time winner Erny J who came in second with ‘One Last Time’.
16 Commercial Houses participated in this year’s competition. The order of winners for the 2026 Inter-Commercial Calypso Monarch competition are:

The competition was held at the National Cultural Centre on Thursday July 9th. It signalled the commencement of a bumper weekend of competition with the National Groovy & Power Soca Monarch on Friday, 10 July, the Calypso Monarch Competition on Saturday, 11 July, the Republic Bank Panorama Competition on Sunday 12, July, and King and Queen of the Bands on Monday, 13 July.
