80 Songs Advance to the Soca Monarch Quarterfinals for Lucian Carnival 2026

National Primary Schools Calypso & Soca Competition 2026

Twenty-one (21) students took to the stage on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, during the National Primary Schools Calypso & Soca Competition at Mindoo Phillip Park.

Mr. Personality of Dugard Combined School captured the National Primary Schools Calypso Monarch title with his rendition of “Remember Me.” No stranger to the competition stage, the young performer delivered an electrifying performance to an enthusiastic audience, many of whom sang along. Meanwhile, Soca Storm of Ave Maria Girls’ School claimed the National Primary Schools Soca Monarch title with the song “Lash Up.”

The competition was divided into Calypso and Soca categories. The winners in each division are as follows:

All participants in this year’s competition received cash prizes on behalf of their respective schools, along with gifts from sponsors.

The next event on the Lucian Junior Carnival calendar is the National Secondary Schools Calypso & Soca Competition, scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2026. Nineteen (19) secondary schools will compete for top honours.
